Oh what a wonderful dream. 20 years ago, you would have had me sitting on the potty hoping it was true.
But my guess is that the fluid built up in the surrounding tissue is discharged as it is available in the tissue to do so. So what would happen is that the tissues would be continually collecting for whatever time they require to rid the body of the amount that the body wants to rid itself of. So, no, you can only discharge the amount that is immediately there at the time. You just have to wait for the rest.

No you cannot shorten your period by doing so. You are only pushing out the same amount of blood that you would be wiping out or that will come out into the pad or tampon. There is no way to shorten your period. Everyone's body is different. The only possibly way would be going on a birth control pill..

Here's the deal. When you...err, 'pass motion', or urinate, your abdominal muscles contract to increase pressure in your abdominal cavity. Since a woman's uterus is located in the abdominal cavity (anatomically it's right between your urinary bladder and rectum), there's probably some pressure applied there, which is what you have been experiencing.
A period, on the other hand, is when a woman expels degenerated endometrial lining (a lining of cells on the inside of your uterus) after a full menstrual cycle. So unless you have endometrial cells dying off everyday, the answer is...no.

Good Question, but I am guessing no. I always had 7 day very difficult periods. And nothing really made any difference.

I don't think it will make it shorter, but it could help get some of it out quicker. If that makes any sense.

No, you can not, but if you push to much you can bleed more, because you bring more blood to your pelvis.
