No. I dont think so . & I wonder if they were relevant even then.
It was solely Bapu's charisma that did the trick with the Britishers rather than his principles !!!!! Think !

Yes! Gandhian principles are as relevant in today's world as it were then. But do Gandhian followers exist even today?

Yes. Gandhian principles are in to-days world as in any age. Anti-Gandhian principles say that you kill others to survive, but that is the way the dinosaurs, etc vanished from earth. Do you want to follow suit?

Gandhian Political Economy: Principles, Practice and Policy
This book identifies and analyses the political economy elements in Gandhi's thought; evaluating the spiritual and ontological basis of Gandhian political economy, and examining the contemporary relevance of Gandhian political economy both in terms of alternative types of heterodox political economy and in terms of policy. The book presents a groundbreaking step in the creation a new 'Gandhian' political economy.

Hope has answered ur question well. Just some add-ons...
I do not think it really matters as to what Gandhi ji's principles were or if they are relevant today or not ? When I think of Gandhi ji, I remember a man who did what he believed in irrespective of opposition or support & cared for the living. His beliefs might give some pic about him but there relevance in present is doubtful. Time changes & so should be the ideology. You should follow what you believe in or what you feel is right. Personally, I hate lies & also only situation in which I can let other person slap me is when my hands are tied at the back. I believe in non-violence but then I also have a duty towards myself & my beliefs have nothing to do with Gandhi ji's principles. These are based on my experiences in life, with life & with people.

i had already answered a similar question...but i like this topic...so i would say...that for example take the language english...it undergoes a lot of changes according to the time passes. that is why the language english is very relevant today and has become a "common-stream" language. otherwise like many ancient languages it could have become obsolete...
similarly gandhian principles (truth,non-violence, stateless society, seven social sins etc) will be relevant only if it is followed according to the present society. today if you support non-violence...when the other person or persons have a violent attitude towards you or your country...you or your country would be destroyed in no-time....hunger-strikes won't attract attention...if you use it for everything you want your opposition to do.
that is why...every principle of gandhiji is relevant but the usage of these principle should be in a limit...till your self-respect and dignity is hurt. when the limit of non-violence is broken...violence has to be adopted to teach lessons to immoral people.
so when your own principles are mixed with gandhian principles....that would have some relevance in the present society...
otherwise...in no time such principles will be reduced to dust...and thank god ...this is not happening...
:)

edit:gandhian principles are inspired not only by jainism...but other religions also....gandhiji's principles were influenced by bible, geeta, quoran and many other religious books and religions.
:)

If Gandhi were alive, we can almost guess, he would continue to hang on to those principles (quite natural ofcourse), and if we can just imagine or visualise it, we know the outcome in the present situation. That answers its relevance. The combination of principles would need a similar mind set to sustain it, irrespective of the situation, and then, the situation would decide its outcome... whether it was relevant or not !

not many people know that Gandhian principles are actually inspired by Jainism. Gandhi does have a Jain background , and non-violence and stuff like that are the most fundamental principles of Jainism. yea, they are valid.. though i'm very vary of Gandhi. Gandhi was very diplomatic... that's very unethical. I do agree that he was inspired by many other religions too.. but fundamentally by jainism.

Relevance of anything depends on the context in which it is used. Somethings are timeless and can endure the test of time. Application of these principles that is whether people actually apply them is questionable. They just don't have the belief or selflessness required.

There is no answer to this question unless and untill you mention you are speaking about which principle. Trusteeship council is coined by Gandhiji is it not practiced all over the world? If you say Boyel's law is out dated because Charles law has come then the problem is acute.
