How long did it take you? I was in and out for a while and then really buckled down for a year--but only able to go part time, then I've had to sit out this whole year because of financial aid issues. So...I'll start back in August but just barely a sophmore! I'm getting a little discouraged! So, can you share your story and tell me how much it was worth it even though it took longer than a traditional student....lie if you have to HAHA (JK)! :) Thanks!

I am 44 and have just started, so I know how you feel! I never went to college. I got married and had a family and then it just never seemed the right time to go. It will take me probably 7 years to get my bachelor's because I am only able to take 2-3 classes per semester.

I try not to think about it that way because it is very discouraging. So I have chosen to look at it this way: I can be 51 (or whatever age I am when I finally finish!) WITH a degree, or without a degree, but I am going to be 51 no matter what, so I might as well be it with the degree!! Good luck!

I went back to college after 21 years.
When I was 19, I went to college, but had no real idea of what I wanted to do.
In the meantime, I got married and started a family. When my youngest child entered kindergarten, I decided to re-enter college.
In 2006, I earned my A.A.S. in Criminal Justice. Currently, I am pursuing a General Studies A.A. in order to transfer to a 4 year college to get a B.A. in Criminology.
There are many nontraditional students where I attend classes and we network with each other as far job opportunities and other interests. I am over 40, and although it isn't always easy, I am glad I went back to school.

Well I am still young 21 but only a sophmore in college I have been going to college on and off since 03. I started to go back last year (fall) full time but with finacial issues and my first pregnancy I couldn't go back to finish off this year, hopefully after the baby comes me and my husband can figure something out for me to go back to school and still work. But I do want to finsh and graduate soon.
