Stayed on the 13th floor of a hotel in downtown Brissie a few months ago. No problems with luck at all. There was, however, a lot of noise, most of the night, with knocking sounds on the door, footsteps coming from the hallway, and an occasional scream (sounded more like happy screaming than scared screaming) This might have been a ghost, but more likely related to the thirty four kids staying on the floor for school holidays...

Well, in the americas, it would be rare to find a building with a 13th floor because of the urban legend of a 13th floor which everyone knows. In the Philippines, it would be hard to find a building with more than 10 floors, but I have seen some with 13 floors, but can't remember how. And no, it doesn't bring bad luck

I don't know what idiots there are elsewhere but in Australia just about every building with enough floors has a 13th. I've worked on 13th floors in two or three buildings. They are no different from the 12th or 14th. I understand that some casino hotels don't have a floor numbered 13 but everywhere else does. We tend not to worry about silly superstitions.

Worked in Manhattan NY for many years.
There has to be a 13th floor in tall buildings.
However some buildings did not mark the floor as 13 esp in hotels..
That floor is often used for utility or mechanical space & not accessible to the general public.
Some buildings just did not show 13 on the elevator buttons to satisfy the superstitious.

For a building to be more than 12 stories tall it has to have a 13th floor. Just because moronic humans opted not to label it as the 13th floor doesn't make it non existent. I love the way humans will act as if they believe in a superstition or fate, then decide that, because we are human, that they can control it, perfectly exemplified by the "13th" floor nonsense.

I've never been to any and I've heard stuff about buildings with 13th floor but in my opinion, 14th floor is still the 13th floor. They just changed the name but they're still the same.

In India, if the building is tall enough, it does have a thirteenth floor, and called as a thirteenth floor. There is no bad luck associated with it.

I lived for a year in apartment 1308 on the thirteenth floor of a building.
Of course nothing unusual happened there. It's just another floor.

It's just a superstition that 13 brings bad luck, kudos to all those stories and movies.
