had a dump and flushed only to wath the filth rise and then panicked not knowing whether it was going to overflow or not?

The fear and suspense grips you like nothing else. There's nothing you can do but watch in horror and will as you might that it will stop. Worse of all is if you are a guest in someone else's house and this happens. What would you say?

Fortunately, I think most modern toilets are designed such that the cistern tank holds the same volume of water as the capacity of the bowl, so it will always stop just as it gets to the top.

worse my sisters septic pipe came off in the basement and all the crap was running all over the washer I would rather see an overflowing toilet it was everyones dump coming down all over

My loo does this alot.... Think its because people flush sannie towels in them when they are not suppose to and they get stuck....

Once my loo rised and stayed there and wouldnt go back down!!!

Yep been there! but the pan should not be smaller than the cistern to compensate for such a disaster!!

All the time . I stuff toilet paper down my toilet first just so it will do that ... And i rise to the occasion :)

ew my partner did and left it blocked, i threatened to dish it on a plate for his lunch he soon fixed the problem lol
