Different people have different needs. Some people need to collect or own to feel secure. It is often determined by a person's culture and how they were raised. It can also be determined in response to hardships a person has experienced. Fear isn't rational, it just is. And no 2 people are alike. One person may need to eat alot and another person may need to collect frogs. Some people have to get married and others have to avoid it. This can be said about most any subject.
