Dude, are you sure your TV was switched on? Because you were actually typing when you claim to have been watching a race.. You can't have been that much into it in the past, if you think this is a boring race. Are you a Schumacher fan? They are all crying since he left. They quickly forget that the sport entered into it's most boring period in history during his reign.
Bahrain has the drawback of being in the middle of the desert so there was never going to be much to look at, scenery-wise, but concentrate on the individual battles up and down the field, when you can tear yourself away from your computer. Split rear wings and the reinstatement of Murray Walker (we really lost a true legend when he retired.) would liven it up but it's still entertaining the real fans.

Hey! You're lucky to get to watch the race on tv. I've to watch live timing on f1 official site cause they're only showing the delayed telecast for bahrain (only 7 of 17 races will beshown live. Pointless if you ask me. Hope the tv station rethinks it)
Anyway, F1 does seem a bit boring now. Talks of new countries going to host races is cool but not at the price of removing the traditional circuits. Extending the race calendar to over 20 races is just too taxing.
Another thing is the gap between races. If you noticed, there are a few 3-week gaps as opposed to previous years where the ionly time with a 3-week gap was during July/August. It's just too long a wait. Like Melbourne-Sepang. Bahrain-BArcelona. Yes, teams need time travel but people getimpatient.
Also F1 misses Montoya. I'm not so much of a fan but he always does daring overtakes and makes interesting comments. NASCAR has him now. Then F1's biggest star, Michael Schumacher has gone into retirement. Jacques Villeneuve (not a fan either) was sacked by his team.He always gave straight to the point comments, in-your-face type.
F1 needs more overtaking. Less complicated rules. More interesting characters maybe?

Bahrain is a cookie cutter circuit , but the good news is in 2009 Ahbi Dhabi gets a Grand Prix lets hope it's better. Indy as the USGP terrible needs to be replaced say Long Beach, California at least fans will be sexy.
I under stand Magny-Cours may be dropped replaced with San Marino. Finally need to get Suzuki back once again Bernie takes the money (Thanks to Toyota) over what's best for the fans and good racing we lose a fun race.
Lewis Hamilton is exciting and I look forward to the close battles as the race for the world title may not be decided until the last race. This is better then the championship being wrapped up before Italy.

This is a two sided problem.
On one hand, its natural for F1 teams to always develope their cars to go faster and faster that had the FIA not regulate their developement, cars today will be un-drive-able by humans, the G force will be too huge for any human to withstand. So, FIA introduce rules such as raising up the front wing and bringing foward the rear wing to reduce aero efficiency, reduce engine capacity and limits its RPM and stuffs like that.
On the other hand, those changes to limit the speed of the car will also result in harder overtakings. Less efficient aero for the cars means that these days cars have a hard time following another car through the corners, thus harder to overtake even on the straights.
This is why we seldom see overtaking at the front. And even if there's overtaking, its because one car is significantly faster, so yes that car will overtake and the other cannot do anything about it. (unlike the past where cars with equal performance can overtake, and so we see these drivers trade position from corners to corners, making it a very interesting racing stuff.)
Well, for now, nothing will change. But there's next season, no traction control. That's where all the fun will be back.

Yeah I'm finding it so boring now. I used to really like Jenson. I was really happy for him when he won the first race of the season and I was excited at the prospect of him winning the championship. Now I've come to realise that he's even more arrogant and irritating than Lewis, and I'm so bored of just watching him cruise ahead of the opposition completely unchallenged. It's back to the days where Schumacher and Barrichello just dominated everything. That's when I stopped watching F1 altogether last time, just so boring and predictable. Who wants to see drivers fight it out for 4th or 5th place when in the last few years we've been treated to some brilliant competition. Bored of Brawn now. Let's just hope the other cars catch up soon.

F1 is actually MORE INTERESTING this year!!! For one, there's more competition among the drivers- among Alonso, Lewis, Kimi, and Massa. It's a four-way battle for the wins. And now it's a three-way tie in the drivers championship- Alonso, Kimi and Lewis.
The new racers are definitely making F1 more competitive- especially Lewis Hamilton. F1 is definitely very interesting- you have to get back into the mood!!! Maybe it's because Michael's no longer in the sport. But think about it- we've got new drivers who are fighting each other. People may say that it's typically always Massa, Kimi, Lewis and Alonso who fight for the top spots but it isn't necessarily so. The BMW team are pretty good this year- especially Nick Heildfeld. Plus, there are other teams stepping up- Super Aguri is a very good example.
F1 is only getting better- never worse.

Last season I was so hooked on it and I couldn't wait for the races and I think this year is just having a slow start the only good thing so far is Lewis Hamilton and the Mclaren team challenging Ferrari, what has happened to Renault? I think that todays race was a little bit dull but I think the season will get better with every race right until the end.

I love F1 and will always watch even the 3am races, but there seems to be slickness to it that is hacking away at is spirit.
Every race is the same; the well rehearsed procedure is too rigid and the drivers are creeping dull.
Remember when the invaders got onto Silverstone and the wonderful old Hockenheimring? Remember Schumacher and Hill scowling and shooting flames at each other in post race interviews? Remember when podium celebrations were messy, uncontrolled and un-contrived affairs?
The circuits were grubby but incredibly tough and ramshackle (Mexico, Ostereichring, Dijon) now they are samey samey luxurious palaces
The drivers were brave, a bit lumpy and more often than not incredibly controversial, now we have robots who earn $8million dollars a year and wonder where the potential went whilst sitting on their yachts in their tax havens
Yes, F1 has gotten stale
Listening Bernie and Max?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
my sentiments exactly...
bring back the personalities into F1 and a few drivers who show their balls not just when driving, but when talking to the media and fans alike.
Too many drivers, if they have balls at all, are chopped off by the time they talk in public and are outside the car.

Im a big fan but its too emphasized on cars in all honesty winter testing provdies the form guide for the season so you do know what the pecking order is and yeah It does change a little but mainly it stays the same with lots of development so the different types of tracks provide different challengers but on a single type of track the running order will always be the same, what F1 needs are two things
1) More characters - I thought Montoya was a prat but he was a character and we need that in our sport
2) F1 needs another dominat player like Schumi was for the rest of the field to see as the level and for them to love to hate him
and also we need the tyre war as that brought more interest to the GP weekends
but what we dont need is engine homogolation that is a bad bad idea as its hard to develop from these engines as its limited what you can do with aerodynamics

Have to agree F1 is getting boring ,not as much overtaking as there should be,although Dc made a good charge from the back of the grid before retiring and nick hedifield did ok to pass alonso.
i wish james allen would shut up about hamilton all the time, and talk about some other drivers for a change.
