In the history of the world beards and long hair were more common than short hair and a shaved face. Hair contains a form of crystal and acts like an antennae for receiving and storing energy. Nature grows everything for a reason (even weeds are herbs), so what makes us think we know better? And why is cyberspace prejudiced against the natural way by having no avatars with beards or long hair?

You're obviously talking about for men.

You can always post your own picture.

It's their call, just like Disney used to do with it's male employees with facial hair, none was allowed for the longest time, but I believe that has changed a bit.

There are some women that grow facial hair, so perhaps since this is natural, they should include that as an option too.

I agree with you. There ought to be avatars with hijabs and muslim clothes for muslims too! You could post your own picture but that's not good if you don't take a good picture. You ought to contact Yahoo and suggest it.

they also fail to provide an array of darker tones when it is quite obvious that people with dark skin have a variety of tones.. more than the lighter tones... yet they only provide two (hideous) darker "colors"
