What's with the elitism con argument?

I see they bring the term "liberal elite" every once in a while.

Liberals don't seem to be the elitists. The wealthy liberals like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and practically every Democratic senator are all in favor of having their taxes raised in order to ease the tax burden on less fortunate Americans, as well as to balance the budget, and create economic programs to get Americans back on their feet.

The rich Republicans on the other hand seem to believe that the rich are rich because they are hard workers and the poor are poor because they are lazy. They want their taxes cut and they especially do not want their taxes used to help people.

Another lie cons bring up is to say liberals think Americans are stupid. That's why we're trying to tell them how to live their life.

I think cons have it completely backwards. Cons believe in using the government to RESTRICT people's personal social decisions based on their conservative interpretation of christianity.

Liberals, on the other hand, believe in using the government to EXPAND/protect people's personal social freedoms. For example, in the past, it meant the freedom to MARRY or NOT TO MARRY a person of a different race. Today it's about the right to gay marriage or the right for people in extreme pain to die if that's what they want. Every generation had had its social controversies. Liberals are always on the side of expanding social freedom. Conservatives are on the side of keeping the status quo.

Your right, they just wont give an inch on the Republican side. It makes them look bad when a Republican has to steal to make money. Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are both the highest contributors to the unfortunate to date. There isn't a Republican on the list.

WRong! with the the exception of the flithy rich like Buffet and Gates who are in another universe.Dems with out exception keep accountaants and lawyers busy with Tax dodges, None of them NONE, have just paid the straight tax based on income, none of them file the short form, I would bet none pay extra tax to prove a point. Im not a rich republican, but when I get there i wont try to erect barriers to others getting there also, and it will be due to hard work bacause I don't buy lottery tickets. I would want my taxes low because it's my work that makes my money, and I should be free to use it as I see fit.
Some of the poor Are lazy. Some are held back by the Kennedys of the world and the Jacksons/Naacp's that derive their power and purpose from the permanent underclass.
Conservatives social policies are a counterbalance to the libs evil, immoral practices that degrade our society and truly restrict freedom because they are designed to take away all our freedom a place power in the hands of a few elite. Cons believe in rights for everyone. with individual responsability. this Does restrict rights. Yes. but its for the promotion of individual freedom.. Your excercise of freedom can't interfere with mine
As for the conservative interpretation on Christianity, I am not very religious but one basic interpretation of God created MAN IN HIS IMAGE and later created WOMAN FROM THE RIB OF A MAN to be a help mate(Adam and Eve). You CANNOT interpret this to mean anything other than, Man and Womn should mate and marry. and the fools that say God is a woman miss the point. God created MAN.........

Well, well, well. Elitist liberals, do you really want to know where that comes from? It comes from our perception of you. You walk around claiming yours is the only answer. You claim bigger gov’t would be used to protect your rights instead of controlling our lives. You claim your love of freedom of speech, but only speech that mirrors your own. You claim to be behind our troops but not the war but we all know the spitting still happens in the airports, it’s just not reported on the news. You claim it is wrong to put to death a murderous scum prisoner that killed 3 children but you OK with killing an unborn baby. You claim the rich need to be taxed more to relieve the burden on the poor but forget to mention that the middle class will see the largest increases because most of the poor already don’t pay taxes. You claim to be “Law abiding citizens” but it’s OK for John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi to break any law they wish to embarrass the President. (Logan Act) You claim your all for “no religion in public schools” hiding behind our separation of church and state but it is OK to allow Muslims to Practice their religion in our public schools and make concessions for them.

I’m not going to pretend I speak for all Conservatives. But this is why I despise liberals, all you stand for and all you hold true. I see you turning our country into a “Socialist state”. The biggest difference between the Liberal and the conservative is you hide behind the constitution and the bill of rights using them to protect you. Conservatives hide the bill of rights and the constitution behind them to protect them from you.

It's the same argument that the KKK used, to protect American values, traditions, morals and god was on their side too. I don't really see much difference. Once I got into my forties I realized just how immoral and greedy the republican party truly is. They speak with forked tongues and they are now reaping what they have sown.

The term is easy to understand when you look at what the liberals try to do. Liberals try to pass laws dictating behaviours that "they" think is best for "you" because they think themselves smarter than you.
