Question

why do matt's telepathy signal go haywire when he is trying to read Mr. Bennet's mind?

tell me the powers specifically( what it does )
of each character
tell me about the character if it doesn't have powers.....

If you notice he is also around the Haitian, so it is the Haitian's power that is interrupting Matt's abilities.

Peter- Can absorb other hero's powers
Claire: Can heal (a la wolverine)
Haitian guy: Erase memories
Nathan: fly
Hiro: Can go forward and backward in time.
Ted: Nuclear (Geiger counter goes way off around him)
Matt: Read minds
Eden: persuasion (died)
Sylar: Take other hero's powers by killing them (does something to their brains).
Isaac: Paint the future.
DL: Morph through walls.
Mika: Can do something but not too sure yet, he's gotten money from ATM's and made a broken pay phone work.
Nikki/Jessica: multiple personality, can see the other personality in mirrors/mirrored surfaces, one is kind the other is tough.
Candice: She can create illusions (i.e. with Bennet's wife, etc)
Hana Gitelman: can tap into satellite signals, radio waves, phone calls, e-mail, you name it

Because the Hatian guy clears Mr. Bennets mind. When the hatian guy is not around, Matt can read it.

Eden (i think that was her name): persuade ppl (DIED)
Syler: Take other ppls powers by killing them.

Because, Matt's telepathy doesn't work when he is around the Haitian. It is sort of like a counter-force against matt's telepathy.
