As you know everything end up dying in one way or another even our universe. The Sun according to scientist will die 6 billion years according to theories. But theories are not right sometimes. But before dying sun will become a red giant and that it will become big to the orbit of Venus and after that when helium is gone in sun and all is left is carbon sun will then explode all of its outer atmosphere. That time sun will decrease in size probably smaller then earth and all it will be is a carbon ball and slowly it will lose it heat and cool down and after billions of years who know that our sun ends up being a diamond as big as earth. But remember it is all theory and theories are sometimes wrong. But sun will not end up in a explosion like a supernova. but just don't worry about it know it is another 6 billion years a lot of time amd who knows till that time what will happen to mankind.

the main sequence age is:10^10 but the sun already passed 5 billion years so the sun gonna die 5 billion years later
its not gonna die its just going to be a red giant star and after that a white dwarf

The Sun appears to have been active for 4.6 billion years and has enough fuel to go on for another five billion years or so. At the end of its life, the Sun will start to fuse helium into heavier elements and begin to swell up, ultimately growing so large that it will swallow the Earth. After a billion years as a red giant, it will suddenly collapse into a white dwarf -- the final end product of a star like ours. It may take a trillion years to cool off completely.

Never.
Just joking.
It takes approximately 10 billion years to die. It first sheds off its outer layer and then leave a white hot core, called the white dwarf then slowly it will turn into a brown dwarf, later a black dwarf. Or in the other case, it may draw materials from another companion star or nearby star then it will ignite a thermonuclear reaction, finally BOOM! a supernova is occured , called the type 1a supernova

If you are looking for a more scientific answer:

another 5-6 billion years left in there probably - but don't worry it will first burn, then suck in eartch and other planets before it explodes and contracts to a white dwarf...
