"You are to bring into the ark two of ALL LIVING CREATURES, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of EVERY KIND OF ANIMAL and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive."

I don't think God is very good with grammar.

Key words: ALL LIVING CREATURES

Please note: EVERY KIND OF ANIMAL

The passage specifies that "all living creatures" and "every kind of animal" are to be loaded onto the ark. It further specifies that the reason for "all living creatures" and "every kind of animal" to be loaded onto the ark is so that they will not die. It does NOT specify that "every animal in danger of dying" is to be loaded onto the ark.

Compare this analogous grammatical structure:

"You are to kill ALL PEOPLE at McDonald's at 2PM this Saturday, male and female, to prevent them from giving birth."

This example does not state that all humans capable of giving birth are to be killed--it states that ALL PEOPLE, male and female, are to be killed. The fact that it is impossible for males to give birth DOES NOT MATTER. We are commanded nonetheless to kill ALL PEOPLE, male and female.

Similarly, Noah was commanded to load ALL LIVING CREATURES and EVERY KIND OF ANIMAL. Fish are living creatures and animals.

COULD fish survive the flood?

If the salt water ocean mixed with all the fresh water streams and lakes, disturbing the salt content of all bodies of water, wouldn't many fish die?

Go to any local fish store and ask any random employee. They will tell you that it's not good to mix fresh water and tropical fish, because those fish are adapted to different environments.

It seems to me that, if fish were to survive the flood, Noah would have had to have gathered at least one mated pair of each species of fish and placed them in aquariums inside the ark.

Depends really on how you look at the situation. First, as it has been answered already, to look at it literally, "every kind of creature that moves along the ground" would exempt the fish because they did not move along the ground, and could survive in water. But, to complicate things, as religion is always kinda complicated, Sybolically, The Ark was a vessel of Salvation, as Christ was 2000 years later. Symbolically, the only way one can be saved is through Christ, as he was the Lamb, the one to make the final blood offering to raise us above the law, and into Grace. If you take that into consideration, you would have to say that without the Ark, all would perish, so Symbolically the fish and sea life would have had to have been aboard also. The Bible is full of Symbolism, especially to Christ and his crucifiction, but after you have read all of this consider the size of the Ark. There would have been no way all the sea life could have been in there too, so is this an error in teaching??? Sorry had to bring all that up. Your answer would have to be simply no, the fish weren't on the Ark.

Fish were brought on the ark because the land had to get dry because of evaporation for the land to get wet by rain for 3 days. So fish were brought on to the ark and when it started to rain noah threw the fish in the water to survive. Noah had to bring 2 of every animal including fish.

Genesis 7:17 - 7:24
The flood was on the earth for forty days. The waters increased, they lifted the ark, and it rose off the earth. The waters surged, and they increased very much upon the earth, and the ark moved upon the waters. The waters became extremely powerful upon the earth, and all the tall mountains that were under the skies were covered up. The mountains were totally covered by fifteen cubits of water above. All flesh that moved upon the earth perished, among the birds, the domesticated animals, the wild animals, all creeping creatures that creep upon the earth and all mankind. Everything from that which was on the dry land, that had the breath of the spirit of life in its nosrils, died. He washed away all existence that was on the face of the earth, from man to animal to creeping thing and to the birds of the skies, and they were washed out from the earth. Only Noach and those with him in the ark survived. The waters surged on the earth for 150 days

Heres a mystery for you to, since there are dinosaurs int he bible, he must have taken them on the Ark to. How??? Probably in baby form or still in their eggs. www.creationscience.com. Do a google search for dinosaurs in the bible. Anything in the ocean would survive the water exploding from under the crust of the earth's surface and flooding the earth.

MMMmmmm. Food for thought. Funny too. I would assume Noah wouldn't need to bring fish on board, since they can live in water. Good question. I'll have to go re-read that part. I can't imagine the lions, tigers and bears all getting along real well. It had to be a blood bath on there.
