You are paying child support by mutual agreement with the mother I take it,hopefully that is also acceptable to her, $ 300. is not a lot in fact your well below most child sport payments in most cases. This can also be due to your ability to pay but not what you choose to pay. If your earning over 40K then your in her mercy to keep it at that amount, because she can asked the courts for more and rightly so.
You state you pay child support "only because you want to" but child support is not a choice, you have a child you have to pay some form of support and this amount is base on your income and not on how often you see you child. Even if you do not see the child you still have to pay child support. You must remember everyone is an expert when it comes to these things but the law rarely ever changes and it says you have a child you are responsible for the well being of that child, plain and simple. hope that helps there is no nice way to state it.

You didn't say what your income is, or what your lifestyle was before you split up. Child support is determined by your income. $300 per month seems extremely low. If the mother of the child is keeping you from seeing your child as opposed to a court order, you should report her to the judge. If you've never gotten a visitation agreement, this might be the time you should go to court to get everything squared away legally.

Take her to court. It'd be in your best interest to pay through court so that they can help you maintain the records of your child support payments and help you stay in contact with your daughter. Because if you two end up fighting and arguing and you decide to stop supporting her, she can take you to court and your past payments would not even matter, unless you both have a written agreement or record signed by her of some sort. A child supporting parent has a right to see their kid.

Why aren't you paying it through the courts?
Beyond that, most states have published guidelines for payment of child support. It's usually income based. You'd have to do the research for your state and see what the formula is.

Go to family court and file for visitation. The jusge will set a fair amount of child support based on your income and then give you regular set court ordered visitation that the mother will have to comply w.

Honey, you need to protect yourself in these matters!! The sad fact is this: If you don't go through the court and have it court-ordered, everything you've paid up to this date can be said to be a gift. I've seen it happen! Please, protect yourself! You need to go to court to have this resolved, and to order your ex to allow you to see your child!
Good luck!
