Bush wants to create a position of “War Czar” (whatever that means). So far, three 4 Star Generals have turned down the job. Doesn’t this demonstrate that senior, highly decorated career soldiers have no confidence in this administration?

Gee Delphi, why don't you educate me. You gave no information other than meaningless rhetoric.

MSNBC says five four star generals have turned down the spot, and Fox News had a banner on the bottom yesterday that said "Search for War Czar is in it's infancy." So the official answer, from the official government network is that they have just begun to search.

The terrorists were always in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Bush knew that from the start. The Afghan war started BEFORE the Iraqi war, specifically to fight the terrorists. Bush got so caught up in Iraq he forgot about Afghanistan. You're just rewriting history. Sorry, but I don't think we should have someone with attention deficit disorder as "War Czar." Too many more Americans would die needlessly.

It means Bush the current war czar, because technically his position as Commander in Chief is the "war czar", wants to add yet another position to an already behemoth system he cannot manage to fob off responsibility for the debacle he started in Iraq. This way if it continues to go south, he can point the finger and say it is "his/her fault" not mine. Or better yet, if the "war czar" recommends pull out of troops he can say it was not is idea but will go with the war czar's suggestion.
The generals aren't stupid, they see his thought process for what it is- an attempted scam on the American people so he does not have to continue to answer for his boneheadedness and preserve what little he has left of his so called "legacy"

Bush wants somebody to talk to the media and tell them what Bush wants us to hear. So far no career military person has agreed to have King George put political words in their mouths. If they don't say the right words they will be demoted or kicked out of the military.

Probably.

Though clearly its a loaded questions intended to draw responses from like-minded people - hence Delphi's angry response.

It doesn't help that "liberal" is part of your Answers name.

Those generals are probably more concerned with the "situation" they'd have to deal with than the administration itself, and they may see no solution there that would please more than a small percent of any party or group.

Bush wants someone he can put the blame on. Someone has to be accountable for this quagmire in Iraq and Bush isn't about to take the blame. He never admits to any mistake.

No, it means you have a complete lack of understanding about how things work in the government and military. That is why you are the perfect loud mouthed liberal. You spew out claims with no basis in fact and your liberal idiot friends listen intently
