NEVER AVG.
Why don't you try a free trial of Kaspersky, then a free trial of Nod32 then a free trial of System mechanic 7 Pro & then make your own mind up.

AVG free will not install to a sever. It is for personal use only. I know because I tried to install it to Windows NT4 Small Business Server, and Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I use AVG File Server Edition. It comes with one server and 4 workstation license. That allowed me to protect 5 of my thirteen computers with he more advanced paid version. Will worth it in my opinion.

I've been very satisfied with the free version of AVG ... both for anti-virus and anti-spyware ... but it probably isn't appropriate to a server situation.
