I'll tell you a secret of newsletter editors! They will buy a book and run through all of the puzzles in that book, then get a new book, and so on. You won't run into copyright issues for your little project. That way, you won't have to put yourself through this for every issue. When you get through a book, you can donate it to the nursing home's library.

Why not make up your own find a word puzzle using words relevant to the home that they would get a laugh out of. Just put the words in and then add other letters. It is not that hard to do/shouldn't take that long. Also, could make a medium crossword with same sort of words and give the clues that they will know the answers to and get a laugh out of. Just a thought. I think it is great you look after and care about the residents like that.

The "Easy" level Sudoku at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sudoku will be fun for your residents because they've probably never seen anything like Sudoku before. It makes you think in an entirely different way than crossword puzzles, word searches or jumbles. And Sudoku is addictive -- bet they can't do just one!

The rules are simple: Fill in all the squares so that each row, column and 3x3 square contains all the digits from 1 to 9 without repeats or omissions.
