the people around you when they tell you that something is a masterpiece while you only see the kitsch in it?

I think that everyone has their own taste and own perspective on everything, including art so when someone tells me something is a masterpiece and i for some reason cant see the same beauty as he does, i would just respect his point of view, bcuz i know that everything has beauty in it, it just has to be recognized by the right pair of eyes. And i also know from my own experiences that i have seen alot of things that are not considered to be necessarily anything astounding or amazing, but i think they are awesome. And so i think individual meanings that things hold for you are all that really matters. :)

A few enlightened folks see beauty in the subtleties of the world. The rest of the population needs to be whalloped with melodrama and fireworks in order to appreciate something as a "masterpiece."

A masterpiece is in the eye of the beholder or has a million dollar price tag on it.
