Well all you have to do is study hard, avoid gimmick. Instead of going out with friends during weekdays why dont you spent time reading books and notes ahead before going out. So the next school days your prepared for any quizzes or recitation. You feel proud and happy if your in the class and know what the teacher's teaching and u could easily answer her/him coz you've study your lesson.

Apart from paying full attention in class, look out for your weak subject areas and remedy them early. Plan your week ahead and stick to the study plan. Try to read (or at least skim) any chapter prior to the day it comes up in the class. Revisions and solving past papers throughout the year will make you confident. Avoid wasting time esp on diversionary friends and gadgets. Practise giving precise written answers.
This advice will hold good for Class XII too.

All above aswers tell you to do hardwork etc. I would say do all things you like(tv, pc games). the only thing you need to do is to solve all NCERT books thoroughly . that's all . You would score more than 90% .
