It will help to reduce limescale buildup on the internals of the machine.

BUT, if you save the amount of money each box of Calgon costs, after about three years you will have enough to buy a new machine.

We carried out this trial as a college experiment some years back - a box of calgon at about £3.00 lasted a week, that £150 odd pounds a year, or £450.00 after three years and a nice new machine.

Incidentally, you can buy a base level home water softener for about the same amount of money and treat ALL of the appliances in your house.

I doubt it! Luckily for the makers of Calgon this is not something you can really prove or disprove as washing machines can break down at anytime and so often they are written off without even finding the source of the problem!

prob be cheaper to get a new machine every couple of years than to keep putting calgon tabs in. my machine is 3 years old...never used calgon. rip off!!
