can u tell me how it used to be when we really cared about giving answers that won 'best answer'?

I feel great when I know I have truely helped someone here that had a serious question and needed a straight answer...anymore, this place has nothing but smart mouths with nothing to do but shoot others down.....its a sad thing...but, theres no way to stop them......good luck

depends on the question. most of the time when i answer its more then a line or two. and if i really want to give detail on what the topic is i will sit there for 5 to 10 minutes on my answer. sometimes the question is not so involved that it requires a few words. so its not just the answers, its the questions to that can go into left field

A bunch of the answers here are pretty half assed. I believe Google's system worked better in the sense that the answers they received were of better quality. You are absolutely right.

Many of the questions asked here are also of the same quality as the answers.

I remember when I used to get best answers a lot more than I do now...it's easy to do if you spend a lot of time in the more serious categories..but it's not nearly as fun! lol

Its always the case , isnt it ??
We all start out very enthusiastically and then somwhere along the line we become lazy & for some, the 'race to win' more points, to outdo others and reach higher levels begins........quality suffers over quantity !!!!!!!

For best Answer. there is two option.
1st that Asker chose and give the rating of the any Answer himself.
2nd rating is given by audience, you can't give rating your own answer.
