Is it better to lock a motorbike to a pole with the front or rear wheel?

Most motorbikes I see have the front wheel locked. I thought it would be better to lock the back wheel because it is more difficult to remove than the front wheel if someone was trying to steal the bike.

I recommend the rear wheel and part of the frame be locked to a fixed object,or another bike.
There are " motorcycle dollies" that can lift an entire locked bike so it can be wheeled right into a van or trailer.
I use a very large(fat) chain that would require a hydraulic or motorized cutter and a lock that is 'bolt cutter proof' like you'll see on newspaper machines, there is no space to put the cutter head. You can slip the chain through an old inner tube to prevent scratching.
With today's cordless power tools it's almost impossible to have an unbeatable set up, but might as well make it as difficult as possible so they go to the next bike instead.

If you park the motorcycle in a high foot traffic area the front wheel is okay. But it would be better to invest in a disc lock for the front wheel and fine something to lock the frame to. Just like you would for a bicycle.

I use a rotor lock on the back. a cable or chain lock only slows them down the 1st time. if they really want it, they'll come back with bolt-cutters.
They have rotor locks with ''alerts'',
that sound off if the bike is stood up,
off the kick-stand.

Actually, I try to lock around the frame.
