You unfortunately didn't specify what exactly was the problem with your ovary and why your doc wanted you to remove it. Well, as a milder approach birth control pills can regulate your cycle, but if there is a bigger problem it won't work. If you bleed a lot, avoid Aspirin and Ibuprofen containing drugs, as they thin out your blood. Good luck and I wish you to resolve your problem without surgery. Get a second opinion - sometimes helps.

I do not envy you, that sounds horrible! There may be a hormonal problem, but I don't really know. If that doctor is talking about removing something without talking about a cause, you need to consult a different doctor.

Removing an ovary sounds rather drastic. I would find a new doctor and talk to them about going on the birth control pill. I had very long, very painful periods and the pill stopped this problem. Try it, it may help as it regulates your hormones.
good luck

First you should really pay attention to what your doctor is suggesting he/she should remove. Not real smart. You have been bleeding a month. Your could become severely anemia. And that could take a while for you to recover from being anemic. But anyways. This sounds like Uterine Fibroids. Do a google on uterine fibroids.

Get clearer answers from your doctor, have them give you pamphlets or a place to find information since you sound confused.

Also get a second opinion.
