Depends on what you believe. If you are religious you could probably find some "semi scientific answer" for the spirt of whatever you want to call it (changes from religion to religion).
On the more physical side, your body is made of organic matter. Simply decomposes and the different elements or compounds enter the different cycles (carbon cycle, nitrogen, etc).

The body decays, and its component materials are recycled by bacteria and worms, the same as any other dead animal or plant. The mind is a phenomenon of the operation of the brain. When the brain stops working, the mind simply disappears. If that's all there is to man, then that's the end of the story. This is as far as science is qualified to answer.

If, as many believe, God created the universe, it's likely that God created spacetime as part of the same act of creation of the universe. The Bible teaches that God is a spirit, and that His existence is eternal. That existence would be outside of, or independent of, spacetime in the same way that height is outside of, or independent of, north/east. God created man in His own image. The key difference between man and any other lifeform is that man also has a spirit. This is the part of man that doesn't end at death. After death, the spirit of an individual human is either in the presence of God, or in a much less pleasant place. You actually get to make that choice, but only while you are alive. If you accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for your forgiveness, on God's terms, you spend eternity with God. In neither case is spacetime relevant. Your situation wouldn't change if the universe is completely annihilated, and spacetime along with it.

Well, your question is one of the most questions to answer. However, there is no certain answer to this as it mostly depends on your belief system. But I will try my best. I believe your asking about the soul here not the body. We live in multidimensional universe and humans are multidimensional entities themselves. Some souls get stuck in the 4th dimensions or so called (Astral plane). Those are the very materialistic souls, their hell is the astral plane itself as they are so adhered to the material world (third plane). Others travel into higher dimensions. It depends how the person was in this life, then he will go to a realm of heaven or fire. Also, there is the possibility of reincarnation, i.e the return to life back again. The answer to your question is very complex and no can verify this unless you die and come back to tell us again. Even if this happens you won't remember that much if anything at all of what happened to you on the other side. talking about science. Our current science cannot help that much in answering your question. I suggest you spend some time searching the Internet for you answer. Trust me, no one knows the complete answer to your question but you might find those websites to be helpful:

death is defined as the brain stopped functioning.
Brain function on the flow of bio electricity.
the process of making bio-electricity in the body is related to the flow of salts and water in between two magnets(Earth on one side and celestial bodies on the other).
There is also production of static electricity while we breath (Due to striping of electrons from the atoms of the gases in the air we take in and breath out.)
Some parts of the brain stop to function as soon as we stop to breadth, some more parts stop as soon as the heart stops.
The breath is also responsible for the thoughts.
The last thought is the direction the soul takes.
If our attachment is greater towards the material world then we will think of it till the end and still linger here in the same time space.
If our attachment is greater towards the other world then we will instantly be there at the different time -space.
To achieve this the three layers of our body mind intellect and joy accompanies the soul, as the material body cannot leave this time frame in order to maintain the balance.

That is for you to decide.

If you want a scientific answer, we decompose then turn into viatims and minerals for the grass. Except coffins do not allow us to do that anymore.

Our spirit in the form of energy leaves our body and flows in some other dimension; proof : an experiment in which it was found that the body's weight decreases 21 grams after death, which is believed to be the weight of our spirit.
Body, ofcourse, decomposes and becomes microbe feed
