Ladies, if a guy and yourself chat online, whether it be through a community site or msn for about a week everyday for about half an hour each time, or just throughout the full day say 8-9 messages throughout the day. Would you block the guy if he suggested having lunch/coffee sometime (sometime as in just throwing the idea out there, whether she wants to hold off is fine)?

Personally I don't think it's a blockable offence but one girl appears to have blocked me (even though her response was practically a yes).

What do you think? Am I going about this wrong? I'm not trying to attract these ladies, I'd be happy just making a friend out of them.

Could be more to it than you know.

Let me run some scenarios by you ...

(1) She's said yes. Then she goes - oh sh*t I didn't mean to - I don't know how to tell him I don't want to ... blah ... has a panic attack over nothing ... then blocks you cos it's easier to go find someone else to chat with.

(2) She's said yes. BF (or boss - or is the boss her BF?) discovers this internet chat thing and is very cross with her. Demands that she cease and desist and as a result she has blocked you.

(3) She's been lying to you. She's a boy. Or whatever. She doesn't want you to find out. You got too close ... under her skin (or his skin). She (or he) blocks you.

(4) She's had a bad experience before. She went for coffee with someone who turned out to be a stalker who has stolen her identity or an axe murderer or something nasty and while she likes you she's now convinced you are a stalking identity thief or an axe murderer.

(5) Her identity has been stolen and you have been chatting to an identity thief or axe murderer for the past few days.
