basically NH4NO3 is acidic, and HCl is also acidic, so no reaction tend to accur. that is the situation in solution. But situation will change if NH4NO3(solid)+HCl(concentrated). Some NH4Cl can be formed by sublimation etc.

NH4Cl is an ionic compound, hence soluble (no precipitate forms). you can extract by purification and solvent extraction (risk of low yield)...
