I find it absolutely terrifying to contemplate the direction that humans might be evolving. In the United States, you no longer have to be smart or physically well adapted to survive. Any idiot can join the welfare roles. And in our society, it's not the smartest people who are having the big families (on average), it's the single moms on welfare who have 5 and 6 kids. There are of course, exceptions to that, but I don't think that the "selective pressures" that exist today on our species are necessarily favoring intelligence.
Personally, I favor the idea of humans sprouting wings and being able to fly. That would be fun, although most definitely unlikely. ;)

Constantly! Our evolution has taken millions of years thanks to subtle changes in the environment. We may not notice a change right now, but it's happening.
We'll probably evolve into a species that requires less oxygen or has developed a more efficient respiratory system. We may have darker skin that helps protect from sunlight.
Our arms and legs may get longer making locomotion more effective.
To be honest though, I don't think humans will have a chance to evolve. Our species will be extinct soon. We're going to bleed the earth of its resources and make this place uninhabitable for our kind.
Humans evolved the way they did because of two characteristics - Intelligence and rapid adaptation. Environmental changes can cause us to evolve in spurts if needed. But, we won't be able to adapt fast enough to the changes in the environment.

Pestered by science... every living being shall keep evolving until the end of eternity. Does not mean that human beings will change shape! It is only that limbs that are not much in use will reduce in size... nay altogether vanish!
With passage of time... the human brain would mature further and it is quite possible as shown in the serial Star Trek... human beings teleport themselves to distant stars and galaxies using mind waves. Space travel in the near future is quite distinct a possibility provided the expected world war 3 does not happen.
Albert Einstein predicted that the fourth world war would be fought with sticks and stones. The fury of the third world war can simply be imagined. If the complete development in science comes to a naught in the aftermath of World War 3, practically it will be a restart for the lusting mankind.
Travel in space without spaceships is the ultimate frontier human beings are expected to go. Mind waves carry lot of potential. At 13 years of age when I started in search of God... I did not know where to go. I simply continued my journey in search of God... come whatever may! I reached a stage in spiritual pursuit when I discovered the hidden path of Shruti jnana. This wonderful concept of Shruti in Hinduism explains the phenomenon of mind power.
As of date I need not read Bible or the Quran. The complete gist of Bible and Quran is clear to me like ABC. Traveling the path of Shruti jnana... I am able to invoke the wisdom contained in Bible and Quran directly from the reservoir of mind plus... the cosmic source that contains all knowable Wisdom existing in the whole of Cosmos. And the path of Shruti jnana is covered via the mind waves. An explicit phenomenon that cannot be explained in words! More on human evolution - http://www.godrealized.org/human_evolution.html

Humans will change in the future, but nobody can predict exactly how (taller, shorter, less hair, same color, who knows?). However, we are unlikely to evolve into a new, separate species because no human group is truly isolated anymore, given our transportation systems (airplanes, etc. keeping everyone connected). Without genetic isolation, there is no further opportunity for speciation among humans.

There are changes we note have changed compared to our earlier ancestors. These are:
- Increased height (this is noticible even over 50years in places like Japan that have better access to dairy products and are getting taller (faster) because of that....but in general, humans are getting taller.
- protruding forehead. Earlier ancestors had a sloping forehead. THis part of the brain is still devloping and will almost certainly continue to grow. our skulls will obviously have to "fit" around it.
- wisdom teeth. Our jaws are getting smaller. This is due to processed foods which are easier to chew that tough meat, vegetables etc. As a result wisom teeth are often impacted (and then removed) or do not even grow (I am 36 and have none...i consider myself evolutionarily advanced.....ha!!)
- Finger and thumbs. Our opposible thumb and our finger will continue to improve so we will be better able to do finer and more complex things with our hands. Its possible they will also get longer.
- Our backs, hips and knees. Humans have a lot of back problems. This is a direct result of walking on 2 legs, the back (spine) hips and knees which are all important in walking on 2 legs will probalby continue to improve or change.
- obviously there is cultural evolution of which we see rapid change all the time and is more noticable than other forms of evolution (as it happens more quickly and we have lots of examples from the past).

we are evolving, and perhaps we are forming a more effective brain, muscles having much more power, especially the leg muscles, more ability to write fast over a long period of time, reducing the hair on body, especially facial hair, a better reproducive system, more threshold to harmful chemicals, constantly increasing presence of the INTELLIGENCE GENES within the population, adaptation to less sleep and we are losing our appendix and pinna muscles. we will never be able to know how will we look in the future, monkeys didnt know anything about how will they look after evolving. evolution is a very slow process and to identify the process over a very short period of time has not been possible yet.

In the short period - no society last for tens of thousands of years. What we humans will become in a million years or so - we will do it with out being citizens of this state or country - all new borders. The greatest change is the ability to learn therefore our physical brain will be enhanced with new abilities to learn and understand - we will still have the rudiments of level one - the fight for survival - I do hope level four can control the other layers.

I'm not sure what we're evolving into, but we're constantly evolving. Look at human beings two hundred years ago where we were short, had shorter life spans, less technology, etc. We're definitely evolving, but nobody can be certain into what we're changing.

evolution is a slow slow process. i think that all animals constantly undergo evolution, but since humans have invented or created ways to make living and survival easier, we may change the course of our own evolution (sort of a scary thought, don't you think?)
when i try to think of what humans may evolve into i think of nietzsche's ubermensch (and if you haven't read thus spoke zarathurstra, i would recommend it)
