Only in the movies. Not all Americans have had the opportunity to meet the Brits personally, all they know is what they see on television. Somewhere between the Eastenders and Sherlock Holmes lies the common US mind set of the stereotypical British people. Toss in the Queen and the Prince, shake not stir, and there you have it.

Thats a very strange comment. Stereotypes by their nature are never completely true.
It think there are truths within stereotypes. Ok I drink a lot of tea and get frightened talking to women. I don't own a bowler hat though.
