yes, and keep in mind that if you are get upset with them in ANY way, most tow companies have an "attitude fee" for having to listen to you. unfortunately, this is legal, and it is usually a hefty fee.

Sorry man,I used to drive a tow truck.Once I got you on my truck, your vehicle is mine, and you are responsible for all costs.Like someone else mentioned,if you got away with only paying 55 from 75,you really got a break.I would have charged your credit card for the difference or just not released it.
If you stopped me in mid tow,you are still liable for services rendered. The first thing I always did was make the car owner sign a form stating they would pay all fees. You don't sign,no tow.You do sign, you are obligated to pay me.Make sure that you know the tow rates before you hire the company.Your best bet is to get breakdown/tow insurance (AAA,etc.)

You saved a few bucks, congratulations. Was this for a parking violation? They may have just stuck the cash in their pocket and forgot about it. then the law can come and arrest you for moving the car when it was to be towed. You didn't get a receipt did you? Now you'll have a record.

Just kinda kidding with you. but yeah, they hook you pay.

some thing comparable occurred to me (in spite of the reality that the tow truck didnt do any injury to this point as i'd desire to tell). My suitable wager is that theyre no longer in charge considering which you technically shriveled them. additionally, the trench i drove into had water on the backside and, in spite of the reality that the wear to the automobile substitute into no longer that undesirable, the corporation that towed it enable the water take a seat interior the interior for thus long that it substitute into irreversible and deemed "totaled." reliable success

They all charge a "drop" fee and you just paid it. They have expenses involved in sending the truck out and they are not going to walk away from what they are legally entitled to. If you got off with $75 then it was a good day.
