The dog's name is Butkus - named for Chicago Bears linebacker Dick Butkus, a famous football player from Stallone's youth.

in the end credits, i believe they say Butkus Stallone. If you not talking about the dog, the first fighter in the movie fighting Rocky was Spider Ricco.

yes Buttkiss or Buttkus was what Rocky names him but he couldn't afford to buy him until after he won and got rich.
