Hmmm. Well, for those people who think school is all about getting a pass, and nothing to do with getting an *education*, Y!A is a great way to slide by all your written work.

On the other hand, i believe there are some people who post homework on Y!A to (1) find out *how* to do something they genuinely don't know how to do, but want to learn, (2) get other peoples' perspectives on an issue to ensure they've considered all of the facts, and (3) to check homework they've already completed for accuracy and to prevent stupid mistakes.

I think all of those three reasons are good ones. Generally, I won't answer "homework-type" questions where the poster obviously lies about their intent (e.g. "this is for a friend") , or is obviously trying to slack off.
