This is what they say...
State law requires that within 30 days the registrant must publish a statement in a newspaper of general circulation in the county in which the principal place of business is located once a week for four successive weeks.

WHAT STATEMENT?? I looked everywhere online but could not apparently put the right keywords together.

Cheers for any help out there.

Here is the link to the actual California code as to your requirements. http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate?WAISdocID=61994221098+4+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve But this doesn't answer your question.

Wow, what a bunch of crap you have to go through to register a business in your state. No wonder you pay such high taxes!

So I went to the next most obvious place, the newspapers websites. You contact them, pay their outrageous fees and send them a copy of your FNBS filing you got from the clerk's office. They put the required wording in for you.

This statement must run in a newspaper in the county you are located and doing business in. I did a google search on "los angeles newspaper fnbs statement" and came up with quite a few links. The Argonaut paper charges you $150. The Malibu Times charges $75. You can also register through the chamber for $83.

I'm done searching so you might be able to find it cheaper if you look.

Good luck with your new business

I read the explanation in "snopes" and many of the stats are not accurate, however, in some cases they are not far from accurate and it others they may well be accurate we really don't know. This begs another question. Why don't we know the answers to these questions for every municipality in America? We seem to have representatives in congress that are anxious to make sweeping reforms and a president anxious to sign them. You would think we would have this sort of information before we change any laws. I am against immigration reform. Just enforce and implement the laws already on the books and I will be ecstatic. .

Look at the format that others use in the newspapers. If you don't have an attorney, check with a larger bookstore or legal aide for assistance. .
