Tuesday April 17th is the due date. If you don't owe money then being a couple of days late is no problem. If you owe money then you may have to pay a late penalty.

The deadline for all taxpayers to file their 2006 federal returns and to pay any taxes due is April 17, 2007. The IRS extended the filing deadline on January 24, 2007, because April 15 falls on a Sunday in 2007, and the following day, Monday, April 16 is Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in the District of Columbia.

From what I understand, there are really any problems if you have a refund coming, but there are fees and penalties if you owe. This year you have an extra day because the 15th is on a sunday, try to have it in by midnight of the 16th!
