Better in a zoo than in my backyard. I can aruge both sides. yes it does seem cruel to take an animal out of it's natural habitat and put it into a cage. On the other hand. . . .those animals are guaranteed food withouth having to hunt for it, shelter withouth having to compete for it and it is also a way to educate people of the various animals and what their natural habitat really is.

Too bad that PETA PRO wasn't on tonight.
But, not they really should be in a wild life reserve.

Zoo keepers "claim" that the animal habitats in the zoo are fine...made specifically for that animal...just like their "real" homes.

Ya, sure.

Depends on the environment, and how they are treated.

If well treated and given plenty of space then it's not too bad, especially if they are being used to preserve species

NO! What kind of life is that? You live in a cage (sometimes in isolation) and have thousands of little kids stare at you every day until you finally die.

I believe they should. They get treated better than in the wild by specialists. They are safer and live longer lives and they can be enjoyed, studied and appreciated by millions of people around the world.
