Shop foreman, Eh?
It matters. If you put green anti freeze in with Dexcool, you're going to wind up with nasty brown gunk in your cooling system. If it's already had the wrong stuff added, get a good flush, fill it with Dexcool mix and keep it that way.
Am I the only one who's noticed that posters who quote their qualifications are usually complete idiots?

Yes it does, if it came from the factory with Dex-Cool antifreeze, it's reddish orange. Make SURE you ONLY run it. My mom's car is a 2000 Grand Prix. I only run what the factory calls for and that's the Red Dex-Cool. I don't know if your car has been converted. If it hasn't, don't mess with it. It can be very expensive to replace all the nessesary gaskets to do so. Below is a link to the Dex-Cool antifreeze at AdvanceAutoparts. Hope this helps...

My initial question would be why does it need it? That not with standing, your car as the previous poster stated came with Dex Cool, and unless you have had a 100 percent flush you should stay with it.. Don't buy off on the supposed extended life coolants or oils for that matter. Follow the manufacturers regular maintenance schedule.
Good luck

no it doesnt as long as u mix it. when changing the antifreeze you do not want to buy the prediluted stuff u want to buy the concentrate and add ur own water. but for the antifreeze as long as u get the kind that is for vehicles u should be fine.

When you say "type" do you mean "brand"? Depending on where you live, in most cases you can use the 50/50 ready mix sold by such places as Autozone.
