Long-lasting happiness does not occur because happiness is internal and comparative. If you found a dollar, it would make you happy, if you found a dollar each day, you would be happy for a while, then you would become unhappy because it wasn't two dollars, and it wasn't enough to live on. If you stopped finding a dollar, you would become unhappy because you missed the dollar, but you would find happiness in the memory of finding the dollar. Contentment comes from learning yourself, changing what you don't like about yourself, and learning to accept some of those attributes as part of you. Then you can share life with others who accept you, know they put up with some of your faults, and care for you anyway--and you can put up with them too. That's when you can be sure you will find more happiness in life, and that the days you don't won't be too bad. There used to be a saying about sharing--you get twice as much when you share your joy, and half as much when you share your sorrow. And, when you learn to be honest with yourself, you have strength enough to face anything, and know you can handle whatever comes your way or die trying which is all anyone can do.

Okay, I will tell you my secret to finding true, long-lasting happiness, strength, and confidence. My secret is believing in God, the Universe, and in yourself. You have to believe & trust in God because through him everything is possible. When you believe in the Universe and turn to look at the bright side of every situation; Positive thinking + Positive energy = Positive outcomes. The reason I say this equation is because positive thinking sends your messages to the universe, to God, and his Heavenly Hosts where they hear what you're asking. Then when they hear you, the energy you have around you from their presence will give you a positive outlook on how others receive you; walk around with a smile on your face, a jip in your step, and treat everyone pleasantly no matter how they treat you back - all while thinking positively. Add two & two together with this theory and positive outcomes will not only allow you to pass your exams but achieve more in life, love, and so much more. BTW: God, the Heavenly Hosts, and the Universe will know when you're faking all based on your thoughts, so throw all the negativity away throughout those days.
Believing in yourself consists of believing that your mind can make anything & everything happen for you. Believing that you can make anything happen especially with the power of writing. When you write out what you want from every sector of your life, hold on to this piece of paper no matter how long it takes for it to come to pass, because it will happen.
Three years before I met my husband I wrote out a complete list of what I wanted in a partner and three years later, he came into my life and was every single thing I wrote on that paper. This all came true because I never gave up, I looked on the Bright Side even though I was having a rough life and it all came true because I believed in God, the Universe, and in myself. My husband is my strength and my confidence; he's my happiness he's my true long-lasting partner.

Yes!
There are so many, depending on the field of material / spiritual.
True Spiritual , long-lasting happiness, strength and confidence is more better than material.
Secret: - As long as we are with the feeling of separateness (I-NESS) from the universe we will not develop the true, long-lasting happiness, strength and confidence.
So start feeling one with the universe, anything in isolation is limited!
In the beginning it may sound as if we should loose our Identity, but it is not so!
Never condemn your self, because what you think of yourself is what you become.
try to clam your brain waves (THOUGHTS) , come to single point of thought. breath should be deep and from the navel Do diaphragm breathing.
Try to relax in all the situations, by thinking that it is a passing phase, or don't pay more than necessary attention to the thoughts than necessary.

Well people occasionally find it... it's ephemeral usually since there's no such thing as perfection and eternity.
To discover it you need to know what you truly love, like, and are passionate about... you need to forget all suppressions and societal idiocies... it would be YOUR happiness, not anyone else's, of course if you bother no one that would be ideal... it will last as long as you keep following your heart (which is really your brain but don't get too much into it... if that isn't your passion itself, that is)... deviate and you're lost.

Though I am still on the path to this myself, yes there are people who have these things, and it is possible for any one who wants them. My advice would be to study the great genius' such as Buddha, Christ, and Goethe. I would also study the Law of Attraction.

Yes, but they are people who have gone within and realized that the only person that can ever give these things to them, is themselves. Libraries are full of self-help books, but if you aren't ready to take the necessary steps in changing your negative points, then this will mean nothing to you. May I suggest a wonderful book? Your Erroneous Zones by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. If you make the decision to change your life, this book will help you along. If it doen't help you? You weren't ready to begin with. Good luck!

I believe there are. They find these things in themselves not through someone or something.
Diversify your studies and never let anyone tell you not to look into something. Just be cautious, questioning and build your strength of discernment.
Also, find a quiet place and visit it often with nothing but your thoughts.

You have already said it. You must find your own. We know not where our happiness is, we can only follow what we believe to be our paths. If it is your path, then your Life Long Happiness awaits, Enjoy. May the Stars light your path.
