In my life, I've found that picking at a wound leaves a scar.
Today, I look at my right knee and see a scar on my kneecap. I feel no pain in that. I remember a life lesson that cost me to learn. I bear my scars honorably and proudly.
There are many scars that have disappeard, and I've forgotten their lesson I earned. That is like a ring or prize getting lost. Without seeing it everyday, the lesson gets lost in the other things that happen in life.
I say you should bare your scars proudly.
As for "well enough", perspective never happens in a simmering pot, and always in a boiling pot. How else do you know that the soup's done?

Absolutely. Sadly it is rarely the first brain wave that people have. Usually too late.
