I have to state the equation of the oblique asymptote of y=x^3+8 /x^2+9 but I don't know how to start it.

(x^3+8) / (x^2+9) =
x - (9x - 8) / (x^2 + 9)
so the asymptote has the equation
y = x

y = x is the oblique asymptote.

lim (y/x) = 1 => y = x
x->infinity
