I drive a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited AWD. When driving I let go of the wheel and it veers to the right alomst instantly. Do I need an alignment or could it be something else? And if I do need an alignment what is an estimated guess at the cost? Thanks!

A lot of times that's the belt separating in one of the tires. Swap the front wheels and see if the car starts pulling the other way. Cars don't just get out of alignment for no reason. It would have to be a damaged or badly worn part to make it that bad. You can get an inspection for $50. They'll put the money toward the cost of repairs if they find anything wrong.

depends. An alignment costs about $ 80.00. You mightas well get a4 wheel alignment, andi t's also a good time to check the tires. The struts may be bad.
you c o u l d wind up spending a lot of money, so, be prepared. Ask for an estimate first.

Yes, you need an alignment. Barring worn balljoints or tie rod ends, you will just need to set the toe. Improper alignment will cause wear on the tires, thus causing 'tire pull'. An alignment and tire rotation will likely fix the problem.

Good luck.

AWD's are kind of hard to tell. I once owned a 94 Oldsmobile Bravada AWD(full time AWD). It tended to veer or "drift" to the right. Which is normal alignment(safety if you fall asleep, keeps from going into the oncoming lanes). If it pulls hard, have the front&rear LAZER aligned. Otherwise it'll never "track" correctly and it'll always pull one way or the other... Hope that helps....

check your tire wear and tread as well as pressure. Have a mechanic check the balance of the front tires as well. It could possibly be an alignment, but it seems to pull very quickly which makes me think that there is a wear or pressure issue with the tires. I would guesstimate an alignment for your vehicle to be $200+
