The internet has done wonders, any random person can look up ANYTHING, its amazing, how just in seconds you can find things to learn about and make your knowledge grow. The internet definitely made my understanding of other cultures better. People can state their opinion and ideas without being persecuted. Its a great thing and never take it for granted, it might seem its not doing too well from all these racist questions, but if you look past the bad the good majorly out weigh the bad and has made for me a better understanding of the world.

Absolutely not. Think about it, if it has done more harm than good, would you be sitting at your computer posting this question? Now of course there are some bad things about it, but there always has to be a balance in life. With every good there is a bad and people just have to accept that.

Like any tool, it is the user that determines
whether to use it for good or evil.

Has it been used for more evil than good?
Certainly not - think of all the research that
has occurred over the Internet that was simply
just not done before hand.

For every terrorist or stalker there are thousands
of people using the Internet to improve their
daily lives.

And of course, we all need to get our pornography
faster. That is a given.

No. Definitely not. Minority viewpoints find a place on the net. Sure there are nutcases, but there will always be nutcases. As an atheist, I think the internet has helped millions realize it's okay not to believe. They are not alone. The meek voices are freed from isolation on the internet and a grand quilt (if you will) of ideas is allowed to flurish.

it's done good. now, scientists and people can spread their ideaas around so that future generations can learn stuff. also, we are able to enjoy our free time here. and we can chat.

you might say that it takes away from hanging out wiht friends, cause people are on the computer 24/7, but it just makes us appreciate our friends even more, AND even with the computer, we still hang out with our friends a lot. so ya.

and we can type faster, learn random stuff on the internet (like little facts or trivia), learn about other culture (anime), and more. and we can get help from a wide range of people (like yahoo answers, wikipedia, etc). ya, it's doing us lots of good.

I think the internet is the beginning of an expression of our thought processes. It tells alot of whats going on in people's minds. Of how people would like to spend thier time, on who they want to be, on who they want to meet, and a vast web of information. I think it can be a very good thing or very bad thing. It just depends on how we use it. Its up to us what the internet becomes and what we become in general.
