I just decided to see what was happening on R/S (as if i didn't know), plugged the MP3 player in, and being a person who likes to believes in signs, wondered if the first song that came on had any significance on today's events in my life.

First song on, Imagine,

First words i hear, Imagine there's no heaven.

Something trying to tell me something ?

Do you believe in signs.Has there been times when you really should have listened to yourself

I've just had a really odd coincidence. Half an hour ago I was chatting to someone about the city of Bath, where I lived for 3 years, wondering how much it has changed in the 10 years since I left. Then I started reading your question here.

A few minutes later I felt a strong urge to listen to the Turin Brakes song, Pain Killer. I looked the song up on YouTube and clicked on the first video it came up with... to find that this video was made up of recent pictures of Bath.

I love odd coincidences like that!

Yes I do believe in signs... i don't want to be morbid but just over 3 years ago i woke up sobbing after having a very vivid dream that my Dad had been murdered by two men... there was no reason for me to fear for my Dad's life at all, no reason for me to worry that someone would kill him, it felt so real and i couldn't stop crying even though i knew it was only a dream... about 2-3 months later it came true, he was mugged and murdered by two men on his way home. They didn't know him, they picked him at random.
I believe that i was given a sign, but i do not believe that it was in order for me to prevent it happening, how could I have? Well i suppose i have to think like that other wise it would drive me crazy. Maybe it was just a dream, maybe not? Who knows? I just wish it had stayed a dream and not become a horrible reality...
I often like to put on the radio but before i do i say out loud.." dad give me a message in the next song... if the song seems like it is a message then i believe it's him but if it is a totally irrelevant song i switch stations... so it's just the way i interpret it.

What a load of bollocks. Hardly a "moment" thats enough to inspire you to put this question here altho for you to of done so you must have a very over active imagination and play on things too much and look for answers where they dont exist. It is a song, nothing more nothing less and coincidence of the timing. Im sure you have many songs on your mp3 that would relate to many other things you do in your life. Thats why songs are written often to reflect peoples lifes and i guess thats why you have that music in the first place. Think about it......

well man to tell you the truth i wouldnt listen to any body as everything we say is just an opinion and opinions arent facts if you believe un signs then its your opinion that theres signs guiding your life which is ok .say you left where you are to get to where you want to be did you get there because of how you think or did you read the signs i mean when your there its easy to look back and say you seen a sign but the question is would you get any where if you didnt will yourself to move

Yes, there have been signs in my life which if i had taken notice of i would be in a much better position, but we make those mistakes to learn and that's what having free will is all about, I sometimes wish i did not believe in anything, but if you don't believe then you have no one to blame, and in truth their are more believers than you know

You can interpret that any way you like, the only one who is trying to tell you something is you.We see what we want to see,and we hear what we want to hear and we take to heart what we chose of what it is we see and hear......ok.....Imagine there is no heaven. my interpretation of that due to my belief system is if indeed there is no heaven then quite possibly my soul will be floating above in the clouds lets say until it takes form in another body. OK? so that is a big for instance, however I'm trying to open your thoughts to the many different ways that one thing can be interpreted.Ask 5-10 people you know of different ages and beliefs etc this exact question and see the difference in how they themselves interpret the same question. As far as your questions, yes I believe in ,well what i would call following my intuition,I go with my gut feeling on something, and I'm usually right when I do,it is when indeed I doubt myself and don't follow my instinct that I land myself in a bit of trouble.

Its your MP3 player. You loaded the songs onto it. That means you like the song Imagine. That all. Don't read into these things so much.

To believe in signs totally seems like superstition to me, but to believe in interpretation of those signs . . . . . , now thassabit more complicated. When we interpret strange things it seems to give us the opportunity to say or think stuff that often lies hidden. We use them as windows into the soul. Sometimes the soul/unconscious/whatever has a hard job getting heard.

So yes, we should try to listen to ourselves.
