There are many reasons why someone would not WANT to work. First, I must say, though, that a heck of a lot of those who don't want to work, do. For a lifetime.
some of the reasons: parents who didn't work for one reason or another, thus not setting an example for their own children. Undiagnosed illness that steals energy from the person so that they can hardly drag themselves to work. Severe emotional illness; learning disabilities that are often undiagnosed, causing severe challenges on jobs that often lead to repeated firings -getting the idea?
It's NOT all drugs and alcohol. But those will definately worsen any other conditions. There is very little genuine laziness -though many people will claim permanent laziness just to shut up people who are harassing them.

Personally, I don't want to do anything to help out a people that wrongfully imprison me. If I felt that this was actually the land of the free, I would work and I would die to protect it, but it's not. If I can't smoke my weed, if I can't drink a beer and then walk to the store when I'm 20 years old, I can't work. Right now I'm happy on food stamps, **** 'em.

I can't think of anyone who WANTS to work. We work because we have to in order to keep a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs. I also enjoy having nice things which cost money. If we all had the money of Oprah or Paris Hilton we probably would not want to work either.

Laziness, lack of needing the kind of pride that a days work can bring, but mainly just laziness.

Because working sucks. And apparently the govt will pay you to squeeze out babies and sit on your a** and watch paternity test fiascos on Maury Povich all day.
