Printers are designed to pull paper from the feed based on a certain amount of "tension" on the rollers. You might be using a "heavier" weight of paper (i.e. the 'cheap stuff') with your printer, that was designed to print on a lighter grade of paper.

If it's not a problem with a tension of the rollers (or perhaps something a bit sticky on them) then perhaps you are not using the correct quality of paper.

Some printers give the option of ejecting a page before or after a print job. Check your printer's User's Guide or open a document, click File, Print to bring up the printer window. Carefully check all options and tabs.
