If by the "world" you mean our species, then it is very simple; we will deplete the environment of natural resources until the environment can't sustain us (like parasites killing the host).
Either that or animals will learn the benefits of drugs, and begin a hostile take over which will spark the third world war. Just imagine a gorilla on steroids, or a cheetah on meth.

The scriptures in revelatons talks about a war. That war is called Armageddon or Har-magedon. UNlike the teachings of the world where mankind thinks this is a war between men.
It is a war between Jehovah God and all unrighteous men.

It also is not the distruction of the literal world but that of the world of unrighteous people on the earth. As we read at
Dan 2:44, Rev 21:3, 4.

The earth was created for a pupose and that purpose will eventually be seen as promised through Ps 37:29, Ps 115:16
Isaia 45:18, Mt 5:5, Hab 2:14, Ec 1:4, Isaia 65:17. Ps 83:18.
and many more scriptures. So please read these and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Technology in the wrong hands. Some day scientists will invent a weapon capable of destroying all human life. This might be a super-bomb, an engineered virus, nanotech, or something as of yet unimagined. The knowledge will spread, and eventually the weapon will fall into the hands of a mad man. It's statistically inevitable. Why do you think there are no radio signals from other worlds?

That depends on your definition of the World.
The world can be the human society, the planet Earth, the religious world, the Solar System, the Milky Way, the Universe or your personal life.

Remember that the end is only the beginning.

The Sun will die (implode), and the Earth will spin out of orbit. It become perpetually dark, and too cold for anything to live. Eventually, the Earth will collie with another piece of space dust and will break apart.
