How do you fire a rapper possibly? Do you really think Imus career is ended? At CBS. YES. For good. NO. Fire Snoop, fire 50, all they'll do is become an independent lable selling albums out of the trunks of their cars like Master P and Tech Nine did. Tech Nine has sold 600,000 copies + as an INDEPENDENT artist. Master P also was an independent artist that sold albums out of his car as well. You can't hold a real playa down.

Should We Fire Rock Musicians For Saying Kill Someone Or Yourself.. I Bet Nobody Will Be Saying That... There Are No Black Kids Going Into School Killing Their Classmates or Parents Are They I Wonder What Music Those Kids Where Listing Too.. Or Maybe We Should Fire The White Kids And Their Parents For Buying All Of These Hip Hop Albums And Making The Artist Rich Or The Executives That Own These Artist And Keep Allowing Them To Come Out With These Songs Oh I Wonder What Race They Are .. The Rappers Are Not Getting Rich From Us Black Now Are They . Every Time Something Happens That Involves A White Person And It Has To Do With Us Blacks We See That We Want To Blame Some One Else.. Let's Keep Taking The Focus Off Don Imus The Person (That We Should Be Focusing On) And Put Our Comments And Attention On The Rappers And Al Sharpton... He (Don Imus) Said Those Comments Not These Rappers. Lets Start Focusing On The Racism That Still Exist In This World Today and Not Rappers Or Sharpton .. I Think We All Can See From All Of The Whites Talking About Al Sharpton And Rappers That It Still Does .I Would Really Be Stupid If I Could Not See This Coming

No. The context in which someone uses their words are so much more important, at times, than the words themselves. Don Imus, though has the right to say anything he chooses, also has the right to the consequences of poor humor and judgement. It really comes down to the product of which the artist or performer is selling and whether there is a market for it (taking all political, social and personal feelings out of it).
Furhtermore, Don Imus was already on his way out (despite the 5-year contract that was recently signed). If Imus, like certain rappers, or Stern, had the talent to convey certain words that raised percise emotions and kept the audience coming back, then he would not have been fired. No one is crying over this loss.

Don Imus was using some of the slang common to rap, which often refers to women as ho's and bi'atches. Yeah, it would be nice if the rap community stopped dissing women. To those who say "it's unimportant; it doesn't matter" lets see how your friends react when you start referring to their girlfriends, wives, or daughters in like manner.
Don Imus' "humor" is done by making fun of others. He and those who find his humor entertaining uplift themselves by belittling others.

Absolutely! The words in their lyrics are far more degrading and hurtful to young black women than what Imus said. (which was totally uncalled for).
Now, let's all hold our breath and wait for Sharpton and Jackson to jump on the black rappers! Are we dead yet?
Of course there's a double standard. The difference is, when whites are offended, nobody gives a damn. When blacks are offended, the reverends, get in front of a camera, chastise the offender, and make lots of money for themselves.

Nope. You have a choice on whether or not to listen to them. They have no contract to sign what-so-ever and their production company doesn't have nearly as much control over them. Don Imus has supervisors that got pissed by all the complaints.

In my opinion I feel that performers who use works like B*** and ho's :( not a word, but recognized as Ebonix slang...tuale, give me a break) should have their mouths washed out with soap and their jaws wired shut. It truly is disgraceful, Music like that is a waste of free speech. But this is AMERICA, THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, THOSE ARE OUR CONSTITUTION RIGHTS.

Screw that. I'll be satisfied if they get rid of drugs and guns. Every rappers either getting shot, getting arrested for shooting or for drug charges.
You'll probably have to wait for their release from jail if you want to let them know their record label don't want them.
