Although I am a decorated vet, who also once served as a civilian (GS-13), I wonder if neo-cons feel they have a patent on military service?

Just curious...

Given the population of the nation contrasted to the number of people who populate the armed services... I would say that the veterans on here are very small in numbers. I doubt that most of the people who actually ask that are even vets themselves.

Its easy to hide behind a computer screen and make personal attacks or implications like that. And, with all respect, an armed service background does not actually automatically make anyone an expert on Middle Eastern relations and/or politics. Lots of neo-cons did not serve (Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Paul Bremer, Karl Rove... etc)
so that argument does not make sense.

No - the neocons just make up fake organizations like the "Swiftboat Veterans for Truth" to sit around making up lies about how Democrats were never *really* in the military...

It's common knowledge that many democrats served in the military and later found out about the Republican atrocities that they had unknowingly become a part of...

My Dad is one of those veterans who now has a much better understanding of Viet Nam then when he served there...
My Dad now votes Democrat... as do all the other vets that I know of...

Actually - come to think of it - very FEW neocons have a military background... they are usually pundits that were trained how to argue against abortion and gay rights in seminary schools and churches...
Neocon is short for "neo-conservative"... has nothing to do with military or even government...

I answered another girls question about this. She stated that EVERYONE needs to serve their country. Her husband is currently serving and she feels that anyone who isn't is a coward.

Serving your country is a privilege. It is all voluntary. Why can't we just be proud of those that do serve instead of insisting that others do as well?

I don't know what a neo-con is but I am assuming I am not one. My husband is currently serving but he doesn't have a superiority complex about it. He is grate full that he is able to do so. I am thank full he has class.

"Do all neo-cons ask people who detest Bush if they ever served in the military?"

I don't - so the answer is no.

That was simple. Most questions that use the word "all" can easily be answered - there's always some who don't fit the mold you're trying to make.

of direction you have the best to loathe all of us you opt for to loathe. in case you probably did serve interior the militia yet you published this question as in case you probably did not then would not that make you a Liar? So your disdain for Bush might desire to relatively be extra relating to the way you loathe your self for doing the very ingredient you declare to loathe him for.....Did some thing ensue on your early existence?

No they don't. Somewhere someone got stupid and brought the Republican/Democratic issues into and it became just one more thing for the two parties to fight about. Generally it would seem that the Demo's being against the war and the Rep. being for made it somehow that they were the ones enlisting. It's how silly these things get.

What are your decorations, and when did you receive them.

LAWL. according to you his only decoration is for rising above hypocrisy. That takes zero courage.
