Hey guys!

I've got a notorious impersonator of me spurting some nonsense in my blog's tagboard.

And, I've got a suspect but I am not sure if both IP addresses belong to the same user, as IP addresses change time to time (isn't it?)

So, erm, does anyone know how to meddle and tinkle with IP Addresses, or is there any online free services that I can use to compare them?

Thanks a lot.

you can try a whois ip lookup at http://www.whois.sc/

but if someone is pretending to be you in the tag board, then i think you need to change your password for the tagboard; or make sure that you log out when leaving the website. dont just close the browser.

if your tagboard does not have a password authentication, then it could just be anybody sending spam, since anybody can leave a message.

I use a tool called Sam Spade (samspade.org). It's perfect for tracking down spam and spammers... Just enter their IP address and do "IP Block", which will tell you which ISP it belongs to. Then do a TraceRoute, which may tell you which city he is in by looking at the nodes he goes through. If both IP are pretty close, and same ISP, it's likely the same person.
