The length of time that you leave a discharged battery before re-charging it has no bearing on it's charge cycle. The batteries (Ni-cads) on Pioneer 10 space probe had been left off for nearly twenty years when we, via the "big ear" at OSU, were able to turn it back on and re-charge it's batteries.

It should be fine. I have devices in my life that get a charge about 3 times per year and come right back to life. My old PDA was dead for almost 1 year and charged right up. Good luck.
