yes he will have to pay for back child support. Since this is his child it is only right that he takes the responsibility for his son. The mom should not have to file he should go and file himself (Be man!). The little boy can not support himself and he needs, clothes, food, soap, Dr. appointments just to name a few. Why should it be the mothers sole responsibility to take care of the little boy?

I would not want a man that did not take care of his child since if you had kids with him he may not take care of your children.

Yes. He owes her from the day of birth for the child, not the day she files. I suggest he get a lawyer and get it set up now. Also, it would be helpful if he had receipts for everything he's bought the child and a receipt for every dollar he's given her for the child. They will knock that part off what he owes for back child support if he can prove he's paid it already.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so.
Can he prove he's paid her $$ in the past? Like canceled checks & things of the like? If so, then he stands a better chance of not having to.
Try to check around on the internet on the child support laws of where you live.
I hope it helps.
Where I live, he was liable from filing date...not from birth!

Yepper! She's entitled to back support to the tune of 20% of his current wage earning! Yep yep and yep. The good news is that he can set up a payment plan. You just guard your eggs chicky, or you'll be applying for child support on this guy too.

he should have been paying for 6 years. dont get upset if she is asking for money now. thats what he has to do. this is his child too and he needsto support this kid. even if he doesnt want to. he should start to pay if he wants to do the right thing. if he wants to be a punk about it he can wait until they garnish his wages or wait until he gets the paper work

Your bf has a responsibility to his child before anything else. The child support won't be based on your income, you are not married. That shouldn't change even if you get married.

i think of we are lacking some thing right here. Why became into there no formal custody contract? Does your husband pay baby help? If he does he desires to bypass to court docket. He would desire to have had a custody contract interior the 1st place so she ought to no longer jerk him around. He has thoroughly performed into her hands. He desires a criminal expert ASAP. And he shouldn't sign something. A impartial place would desire to be his legal specialists workplace.

Generally, never before the date of filing.

Especially if she knew where he was and didn't file until now. Failre to file is a waiver of the right to support.

However, if he was on welfare, he owes that back to the state.
