hmmmm. alright as a christian i personally don't focus on death/dying i kind of focus on other things so source of info i may have in that area is very weak BUT buddhism and hinduism (quite possibly islam as well, though i haven't studied it entirely) are very interesting in the death/dying department. post a question saying, "any buddhhists/hindus/muslims out there?" and ask about the death part about it. it's all very interesting, i just don't have the specifics. oh and make sure you post it in the religions section. there is bound to be either a buddhist or a hindu out there.

that would just be for like a first hand account of someone of the certain religion. next step would be to do some research.

.............Mortuary Practices...............
Archaeologists argue that patterned distinctions documented in the study of a culture's mortuary or burial practices are a direct reflection on the living population. These patterns may represent differences in social status within the group as well as the culture's world view or cosmology. Among other things, archaeologists look at how the body was prepared before burial, whether the body was cremated or inhumated, the position in which it was placed in the grave, artifacts or offerings placed with the body, and where it was located within the larger context of the site. The study of mortuary practices at Pueblo Grande, through the excavation of over 1,000 burials, has led to some interesting conclusions about the people who once lived there.

My recommendation, since many will try to lead you towards their religion (and I am assuming that you are a student simply looking for a good topic to write about for a class) is to either look into the Hindu culture or Muslim culture (which has great relevance in todays events and undserstandings) for a good grade. Both should offfer enough information to write a great paper and should keep your attention long enough to want to read about it. Lastly, your teacher will relate the latter choice to todays events and I am sure she/he will appreciate your effort and give you the grade you want.

I saw on TV a few nights ago that some sort of *tribe in Africa* preserve their ancestors, keeping them in their tents and protecting them and talking to them.

*Not sure if it was a tribe or if they were in Africa*
