last year i took my car in for a problem with my heater they said it was the thermoste this year my heater had the same problem i took it back and they said that the leaves have clogged the heater and the need to clean it out .. the catch is last year i lived in a place where there where alot of trees this year i live where there are hardley any trees. my question is can leaves clog the heating system or is he tring to scam me out of a few hundered dollors???

in both cases setting 1 & 2 do nothing setting 3 is weak it is more like what setting 1 should be like and setting 4 is like setting 4 should be after they replaced the therosat it worked prefect now it is doing the same thing...i was going to take it to anther place but wanted to know if the leaf thing is a possible problem so i dont look like and idiot

what kind of car do you have, it makes a differance if you want a reliable answer to your question.As you stated your question, I think your being taken advantage of. take your car else where for sevice work.

They're trying to scam you. Since you never said what the heater problem was, nobody can help you there though.

Sure to both questions, ask them to give you the stuff they pull out and or watch them. Or do it yourself to see if they are pulling your leg.

If it was plugged with leaves, you wouldn't have any air flow through your vents.

take your car to a different mechanic for diagnosis

yea, leaves can do it,but its probably more like it needs flushed out.
